Hate Speech within the Scope of International Criminal Law

Abstract

This study focuses on explaining the concept of hate speech. It has only recently received sufficient attention although this phenomenon is not incidental or recent, it has ancient historical roots. The study also notifies what the linguistic vocabularies of this term mean. It shows the boundaries between hate speech and freedom of expression. Also, it shows the international efforts to reduce hate speech within the scope of international criminal law and it addresses the jurisprudence International criminal courts.
